 Luke 1:78-79  Isaiah 60: 1-2

Sadly, we live in a world where faith isn’t the first priority. Sadly, we live in a world where many people think that God is a theory and the idea of Him is a hoax. Unfortunately, many people turn to blaming God, rather than turning to Him. Instead of finding comfort in the Lord in our hard times, sad times and bad times, we completely turn the opposite way and run. Our world today, is in a very dark place.

Arise! Shine, for your light has come,

the glory of the LORD has dawned upon you.

Though darkness covers the earth,

and thick clouds, the peoples,

Upon you the LORD will dawn,

and over you his glory will be seen.Isaiah 60:1-2

We are so fortunate though, we have Jesus Christ, who came to Earth. He walked amongst us and then sacrificed His life, so that we could join Him in Salvation. This is very much like a contract for us, think about the Ten Commandments. We were given the Ten Commandments  as a set of rules to follow,  to help us live according to the Gospel, and to be able to follow the Lord.

But like any good contract, there is the fine print at the bottom. The fine print of our contract for salvation is that we go out and share the gospel with everyone around us. We have to be beacons of light in the darkness, showing those around us the way to salvation and showing those around us the tender mercy of God.

"because of the tender mercy of our Gods

by which the daybreak from on high* will visit us

to shine on those who sit in darkness and deaths shadow,

to guide our feet into the path of peace.

When we become beacons of light and lanterns for others, we are helping guide others to peace, to the Lord.  You are leading them out of this dark world we live in and into a world full of light and life.

So many people are just sitting in the dark, content with it. Content with never seeing the light, thinking that the darkness they are in is the brightest they will ever see things.

So are you ready to be a light for others? Are you ready to show them that the Lord is truly tender and wants to love them too?
